Programs and Events

“The Nature Zone” provides age appropriate programs & special events.

“The Nature Zone” provides age appropriate programs and special events. We provide hands on displays, interactive games, activities and projects to explore the wonders of nature.

Programs and Activities can be tailored for:

  • School Programs
  • Home School Programs
  • Library Open House Programs
  • Scout Achievement Programs
  • Fund Raising Events
  • Camps and Park Programs
  • Tree Planting Celebrations and Dedications

While the frogs croak and the peepers sing, activities include:

  • The Nature Zone’s original Match Game: match 15 real animal skulls with the correct animal pictures.

  • Our Century Old Time-Line Tree: see what historic events occurred during this tree’s life over the last 100 years.

  • Explore our “Pinecones of the US”: compare pinecones like the giant Sugar Pine of California and the tiny cones of the Hemlock, our state tree.

  • Extensive Fossil Collection: Use magnifying glasses to look close and find insects trapped in amber, ferns, petrified wood, cocoons, shells, and real 280 million year old “Dinosaur-Poop”. Modern examples of these fossils are presented for comparison.

  • Amphibian and Shark Display: Compare Real Great White shark teeth with Genuine Megalodon Teeth, and check out live Toads and Tadpoles (in season).

  • Coloring Sheets: Several nature themed coloring pages for the little ones to enjoy.

  • Each attendee receives an original “Lessons From a Tree” bookmark.

"It was so easy to host this program. We only had to provide the room and
advertise the time and date. It was exactly as had been promised."
